Two bodies removed from scene of police action shooting in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – Lafayette police confirm two bodies were removed from the scene of a police action shooting on the city’s far east side early Friday morning.  Officers would not say how the men died.

Investigators said it started late Thursday night in the parking lot of IHOP on State Road 26 East.  Lt. Brad Hayworth said at least one shot was fired between the two men in a silver pickup truck at IHOP. 

Police tracked the truck to a home at 114 Kettle Circle, less than a mile from IHOP.  Hayworth said someone in the truck fired at least one shot at one of the responding officers.  That officer fired back.
